Terms of Service for Alabama Live and Its Authors

Welcome to Alabama Live, your go-to platform for discovering shopping, dining, entertainment, adventure, and opportunity throughout the great state of Alabama — the Heart of Dixie. By accessing, contributing to, or otherwise using Alabama Live https://www.alabamalive.org/, you agree to be bound by the following Terms of Service (“Terms”).

1. Overview

Alabama Live is a community-powered guide, open to residents, visitors, and contributors (“Authors”) who wish to share their unique insights, stories, and recommendations across Alabama. This platform is owned and operated by Alabama Live (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age or have a legal guardian's permission to use or contribute to Alabama Live. By using this site, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. Content Guidelines for Authors

As an Alabama Live Author, you agree to:

  • Submit only original content that you have the right to publish.

  • Focus on Alabama-based subjects, including local events, businesses, destinations, food, culture, and people.

  • Avoid posting any harmful, defamatory, or misleading content.

  • Disclose any sponsorships, affiliations, or compensation related to your content.

  • Understand that all submitted content may be edited, formatted, and shared across our network for clarity, consistency, and promotional use.

We reserve the right to refuse, edit, or remove any content that does not align with the spirit or standards of Alabama Live.

4. Intellectual Property

You retain copyright over any original content you submit, but by contributing, you grant Alabama Live a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, distribute, display, and promote your content on our websites, social media, email, and promotional materials.

All Alabama Live branding, logos, and site content not provided by the Authors are the property of [Insert Owner Name] and may not be reused without express permission.

5. Community Conduct

We encourage positive, respectful interactions among contributors and readers. You agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users or contributors

  • Use the platform for spam, self-promotion unrelated to Alabama, or deceptive practices

  • Attempt to interfere with platform functionality or security

6. Use of the Platform

  • 10 published posts = Alabama Live T-shirt or mug
  • 25 posts = $50 milestone bonus
  • 50 posts = Invite to exclusive partnership or editorial board
  • 100 posts = Lifetime Contributor Badge + Profit-sharing option

📈 5. Ad Revenue Share (Optional)

Allow qualifying authors (after 10–15 quality posts) to:

  • Add their own affiliate link or referral codes to posts (with rules).
  • Earn a 10–25% share of ad revenue generated by their content (if monetizing via Google AdSense or affiliate networks).

💡 6. Community Bonus

Encourage outreach:

  • $10 referral bonus for every new contributor you bring in (after that contributor posts 3 approved articles).
  • $5 bonus if they share a post that reaches 1,000+ views from social media.

By using Alabama Live or becoming an Author, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these Terms of Service.
